Tax the Rich is a grassroots organiation that recognizes that votes not money makes the American system work and that intelligent and effective distribution of wealth as well as the generation of wealth are the keystones to an effective society.  Both socialism and capitalism have offered intelligent systems for the generation and distiribution of wealth, but both have their weaknesses.  Tax the rich seeks to combine the two systmes in an organization that seeks to respect both the rich and the poor and both the capitalistic and socialistic efforts through a tax reforms that neither kills the rich nor oppresses the poor.  Recognizing that all political parties are hard placed to say to their donors that "We are going to tax you and your corporations" as they ask for fundraising support, Tax the Rich seeks to provide an independent "watch dog" organization that promotes tax reforms without formal political affiliations.   This will allow all politicians to go to their donors and say, "We are not out to get you, but we need to respect the voting power and the agenda of the Tax the Rich campaign." 

Tax the rich is an oranization that seeks to develop an econimic system that recognizes the needs of all classes and the realities of all workplace contributiions through a system that rewards all of effort, innovation, and skills background through a tax system that helps distribute the wealth in a manner that reflects efforts and contributions as well as ownership and position. 
ACTION AGENDA

Initial efforts of the Tax the Rich organization are to build an e-mail list, collect relevant research, develop related rinks and do fundraising to enact the following. 

Organize a rally in San Francisco and other large cities 
in Spring 2004

Organize campus tables to recruit researchers,
volunteers, and members by members and subscribers

Focus on disseminating about legislators and
legislations that is consistent with the Tax the Rich
agenda and dissemenate this information to members
and to the general public, in particular to the voters
